What inspired you to launch WNU?
I had the idea when I was at Vogue—I needed to be polished, and a shirt was always a great ‘uniform.’ Women’s shirting was so under-serviced in the industry, and I felt it needed more focus. This is where WNU comes in with our collection of wardrobe staples that can see you through whatever the day holds.

What is your design ethos?
“To be worn effortlessly, without thought or anything underneath.” This was one of the first things I wrote in 2017, ahead of starting WNU, and it’s a statement we live by. The brand is all about simplicity—we’ve been inspired by icons like Carolyn Bessette, Lauren Hutton and Charlotte Rampling, and have since paid homage to them by naming styles after them.

How does sustainability influence your approach?
We’re proud to say that we became officially B Corp certified in 2022. When we’re designing collections we are always looking out for new innovations in the fabric world; for example, one of our best-selling styles is our TENCEL™ Lyocell shirts. TENCEL™ Lyocell is a regenerated wood pulp thats smooth to touch, has a luxurious drape and is also biodegradable.
