How to achieve hair & scalp health

We spend so much time and money on skincare, but what about some self love for our hair and scalp? There are countless products on the market, and understanding the benefits will help guide you to what’s right for you.

Like your skin, your scalp needs exfoliation to get rid of dead skin cells (read: dandruff), oil, sweat & excess build up. We especially love scrubs with salt or sugar exfoliation—it feels like a head massage! Use it in lieu of shampoo 1-2x a week, or for an ultra clean feel, add it to your routine before shampoo and conditioner. Just go easy because too much scrubbing can cause irritation.

Looking for a game changer? Similar to power-packed facial serums, scalp serums can transform your scalp. They’re highly concentrated to soothe, hydrate & energize the hair bulb. This strengthens the root, protects color & makes hair more resistant to damage. Most serums are applied directly onto the scalp. Gently massage it in, and depending on the product, either rinse or let it soak in naturally. Trust me, you need this in your life.

If the current state of your hair is frizzy, dry, dull or brittle, you’re not alone. There’s a deep conditioning mask for just about everything—color preservation, smooth & shiny locks (hello fake Keratin), damage reversal or overall hair health. So skip a trip to the salon and try one out. Pre-shampoo mask, overnight mask, hair glaze, etc. Just remember to shampoo/condition afterward to combat any leftover build up.
