Melis Goral
A third-generation jeweler, Melis Goral worked alongside her jeweler father in Istanbul, learning about the craft from its source, the historic Grand Bazaar. In 2014, she established her own eponymous brand, opening her showroom in the city’s Bebek neighborhood. Fusing traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design, each piece reflects influences spanning her cultural heritage, art, architecture and voyages abroad.

“Cappadocia is my must-visit destination if you want to experience Turkey’s unique, beautiful landscape and eat incredible local food,” says Akgül. “The homeland of the Hittites, the largest monastery settlement of the world for centuries, the native land of grapes and wine, the cradle of Christianity, the ‘Land of Beautiful Horses,’ as the Persians called it—this is Cappadocia.”
