After becoming a mother I quickly realized how important it is to spend the time and effort on raising the next generation after us, our children. For over 100 years Save the Children has focused on making sure that all kids have a fair opportunity to reach their potential. They offer free educational resources, meals, and health care to children that don’t have the same opportunities to these resources. As a mom, I believe we owe it to every child to give them the best we have to offer. Last year Save the Children reached over 100 million children worldwide; and distributed over 15 million meals, along with critical educational resources to the children across the United Sates. This past year, hunger has risen to 17 million children, from 11 million and our kids have lost out on an entire year of school. On Mother’s Day we want to make sure all moms and kids are being remembered. Save the Children creates an opportunity for me, and for other moms, to do our part in offering a helping hand alongside partners like Olivela.
Hands down my daughter Aria inspires me most. From the minute I had her I knew I wanted to be the best because of her. Everything I do in my life is because I not only want to help shape her into a kind, empathic, and loving person, but I also want to be an example for her as well. There are so many things I want to teach her like; what it’s like to chase your dreams, to love unconditionally, and to use your voice to stand up for others. She has not only made me want to be an amazing mother for her, but she inspires me to be a better person every single day.
Although the pandemic has made seeing family and friends less feasible, through my social media platform I have been able to connect with so many mothers from around the world. I hope to celebrate them this year and acknowledge the hard work they put in day in and day out for their children. Being able to connect with so many mothers across my platform has been such incredible thing for me and I’m so fortunate to know so many amazing mothers. I hope every mother feels celebrated and cherished this year. And of course I will celebrate my own mother and the many members of my family that are mothers too ( whether that be virtually or in person). I have been so fortunate to have so many incredible examples growing up and I hope to be able to show them how much I love and cherish them this Mother’s Day.
I always say there is no such thing as balance! I often use the term juggle to describe how I do both. There are days when I spend more time working and am less hands on with Aria, and other days that are the complete opposite. As long as I know I am doing my very best and what’s best for my family is all that matters to me.
